Paul Pogba 'would be angry if Manchester United trigger extension'

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is reportedly against having his contract at Old Trafford extended by another year.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba would reportedly be angry with the Red Devils if they were to trigger his one-year contract extension.

The France international continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with Real Madrid and Juventus both said to be interested in the midfielder.

However, United have the option to extend Pogba's contract by another year, with the Frenchman's current deal set to expire at the end of the 2020-21 season.

According to AS, Pogba still favours a move away from the Premier League, and the strained relationship between himself, the club and Mino Raiola would only be exacerbated if United were to trigger the extension.

The report also claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are hopeful of reaching an agreement over the 26-year-old's future soon, with Raiola and Ed Woodward allegedly on speaking terms again following the agent's controversial comments earlier in the year.

Pogba has netted 31 times in 143 appearances for the 20-time English champions since returning from Juve in 2016.
