Rasmus Hojlund reportedly completed his Manchester United medical on Tuesday evening, with the forward set to officially sign his contract with the Red Devils on Wednesday.
The 20-time English champions are said to have reached a full agreement with Atalanta BC over a deal for the Denmark international over the weekend.
Hojlund was not involved in Atalanta's pre-season friendly with Bournemouth on Saturday amid suggestions that Man United were on the verge of securing his signature.
The overall package for the 20-year-old is thought to be worth €70m (£60.1m), with the two teams agreeing to compromise on their initial valuations.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the forward completed his medical examinations with Man United on Tuesday, in addition to the first part of his media duties at the club.

Romano claims that Hojlund will officially sign his Red Devils deal on Wednesday, with an announcement from Erik ten Hag's side set to arrive shortly after.
The Dane is therefore expected to train with his teammates at Carrington before the end of the week, with a view to being involved against either Lens or Athletic Bilbao in friendlies this weekend.
Should Hojlund prove his fitness, he could then make his competitive debut for his new club in their 2023-24 Premier League opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 14.
The forward is set to become Man United's third signing of the summer transfer window, with Mason Mount and Andre Onana already arriving at Old Trafford during the current market.

Hojlund arrived at Atalanta from Sturm Graz last year, and he scored 10 goals and registered four assists in 34 appearances for the Italian outfit last season.
Harry Kane was strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford earlier this year, but it soon became clear that Tottenham Hotspur would not be selling the England captain to a domestic rival.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils were also priced out of a move for Napoli's Victor Osimhen, who is set to remain in Italian football for at least one more season.
Man United are still thought to be open to further adding to their squad, with Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat being heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford.
However, any further additions are likely to depend on exits, with Scott McTominay, Fred, Donny van de Beek and Harry Maguire all being linked with moves away from the club.
