Dave Jones has played down reports linking him with the vacant manager's job at Portsmouth.
Pompey are currently seeking a new boss following Steve Cotterill's decision to take over at Nottingham Forest last week.
Former Cardiff City chief Jones has emerged as one of the early favourites to replace the departed Cotterill, with some stories suggesting that he had attended Pompey's 2-0 victory over Barnsley at Fratton Park on Saturday evening.
However, the 55-year-old has insisted that no contact has been made with the Hampshire-based club.
"I am flattered to be linked with the job but I have had no contact with the club whatsoever," Jones told The News.
"That is all I want to say really. But it definitely wasn't me seen at Fratton Park on Saturday. I feel sorry for the fella if he looked like me."
MK Dons boss Karl Robinson and former Northern Ireland coach Nigel Worthington are also on the Pompey shortlist, according to Sky Sports News.
