Richard Dunne keen to stay at Queens Park Rangers

Richard Dunne confirms that he is keen to sign a new deal with Queens Park Rangers.

Richard Dunne has revealed that he is eager to sign a new contract with Queens Park Rangers.

The 35-year-old's current deal expires at the end of the season, and he is unlikely to be approached about an extension until the club know whether they will be in the Premier League next season.

However, Dunne, who recently returned from a knee injury, claims that he would be keen to stay at Loftus Road even if they are relegated to the Championship.

"I'd love to stay. I've really enjoyed my time here over the last couple of seasons whether it be in this League or the Championship," the Irish defender told the Evening Standard. "If the opportunity was there, I'd love to bring the club back up.

"I'd like to play again, missing out a big chunk of the campaign, you don't want to end it here.

"After the initial couple of weeks when I did the injury, I knew I would be all right to help the club over the next few weeks. Another season or two would be brilliant."

QPR continue their battle against relegation when they travel to Anfield to meet Liverpool on Saturday.
