Brian McDermott wants Reading to have no regrets at the end of the current Premier League season.

Brian McDermott has said that he does not want Reading to finish the Premier League season with any regrets.

The Royals are in the bottom three ahead of their game against fellow relegation candidates Aston Villa this weekend.

The Reading manager told the club's website: "At the end of every season as a manager you never want any regrets. I want to look back on this season and know that whatever happens we have done what we had to do and we have taken the game to the opposition.

"I don't need to emphasise anything about this game to the players. They know how important it is for them, their families, our club and most importantly for our fans to put on the right performance.

"It was painful to go down last time, full stop, but I remember we were 4-0 up and if we scored another three we would stayed up. It's all about fine margins.

Reading have lost their last three matches in the league.
