Clarence Seedorf scores hat-trick for Rest of World in Soccer Aid

AC Milan manager Clarence Seedorf scores a hat-trick as the Rest of the World beat England 4-2 in the Soccer Aid charity match at Old Trafford.

Clarence Seedorf scored a hat-trick for the Rest of World team as they beat England 4-2 in Soccer Aid at Old Trafford this evening.

The AC Milan manager had given the international side the lead at the start of the second half when he sliced the ball in from out wide.

Former Westlife singer Nicky Byrne added the second goal for the Rest of the World side, lobbing the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Former England international Jamie Redknapp came off the bench and got the home side back into contention, firing the ball in from 25 yards out inside the final half-hour.

England were level when they were awarded a penalty inside the final 10 minutes as Kevin Phillips calmly fired the ball past TV presenter Patrick Kielty, who was in goal for the Rest of the World.

However, Seedorf scored twice in the final five minutes to secure the win for the Rest of the World, sending the ball in with a looping effort from the edge of the box before heading in during stoppage time to complete the hat-trick for Jose Mourinho's team.

The match had raised over £4m for charity at the full-time whistle.
