Fernando Llorente admits disappointment at Spain snub

Juventus forward Fernando Llorente reveals his disappointment at missing out on the latest Spain squad, particularly after the withdrawal of Chelsea's Diego Costa.

Juventus forward Fernando Llorente has admitted that he was disappointed not to be handed a call-up into the latest Spain squad.

Llorente was one of the favourites to replace Chelsea's injured striker Diego Costa in the squad for the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifier against Macedonia.

However, La Roja boss Vicente del Bosque instead called up Barcelona rookie Munir El-Haddadi.

"There are a lot of players at [Del Bosque's] disposal, naturally I'm very keen on returning to the Spanish national team, but Del Bosque is the one who decided," he told Cuatra.

"If he chose to call up Munir, there's a reason for it."

Llorente, who has seven goals from 24 caps, missed out on Spain's squad for the World Cup this summer.
