Vlad Chiriches gets Tottenham Hotspur Under-21 run-out

Tottenham defender Vlad Chiriches will continue his rehabilitation from a two-month back injury-induced layoff by playing for the club's Under-21s against Arsenal on Friday.

Vlad Chiriches has continued his comeback from injury by playing for Tottenham Hotspur's Under-21s against Arsenal's youth team on Friday evening.

The Romanian international defender has not featured for the senior side since the 5-1 defeat to Manchester City on January 29 because of a back problem.

Spurs manager Tim Sherwood revealed this week that the 24-year-old, who arrived from Steaua Bucuresti last summer as part of the club's 110m spending spree, had resumed training with the first team.

The club's official website confirmed that Chiriches will step up his rehabilitation by captaining Tottenham's Under-21s in their junior North London derby with the Gunners at White Hart Lane.

Chiriches, who cost Spurs £8.5m, has made 20 appearances for the Lillywhites in all competitions this season.
