Quique Flores impressed by Tottenham Hotspur display

Watford manager Quique Flores admits that his side found it "really difficult" to cope with Tottenham Hotspur during their 1-0 defeat at White Hart Lane.

Watford manager Quique Flores has admitted that his side were second best in their 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane this afternoon.

The Hornets failed to register a single shot on target in North London as Kieran Trippier's goal was enough to send Spurs second in the Premier League table.

Watford, who have now failed to score in four of their last five league games, drop to 10th as a result, and Flores acknowledged that they found things "difficult".

"For us it was really difficult to stop the attacks of Tottenham," he told reporters.

"They had the ball from the beginning, played really well and used the space amazingly. When we tried to defend the middle of the pitch they went out wide. When we tried to block the sides they played in the middle."

Watford's next match sees them come up against out-of-form Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
