Report: Tottenham Hotspur line up Louis van Gaal

Tottenham Hotspur could replace Tim Sherwood by Louis van Gaal, according to a report.

Daniel Levy is reported to be lining up Louis van Gaal to take over as manager of Tottenham Hotspur after being unimpressed by Tim Sherwood's approach since taking over the reins at White Hart Lane.

It is believed that the Spurs chairman is not a fan of Sherwood's managerial style, which is said to have upset many of his playing squad, despite a relative improvement in the team's recent form, The Mirror claims.

The former Blackburn Rovers captain, who has been part of the coaching setup at the North London club for several years, could be offered a position in Van Gaal's regime, should the Dutchman be appointed.

Spurs have won five of their first six games under Sherwood's stewardship, but lost heavily at home to Manchester City in midweek and then drew with Hull City on Saturday.
