Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane reportedly indicates that he would be open to a move to Bayern Munich if Manchester United end their pursuit of the England captain.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has reportedly had a change of heart over a move away from the Premier League and would be open to exploring a switch to Bayern Munich.

Two years after failing with his efforts to force a move to Manchester City, speculation surrounding Kane's future with the Lilywhites is heating up once again.

The England captain has a little over 12 months left to run on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Daniel Levy will not let his star striker leave without a fight.

Despite interest from Bayern, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, Kane was originally believed to have wanted to remain in England as he chases down Alan Shearer at the top of the Premier League scoring charts.

A transfer to Manchester United was therefore considered the most likely option, but Levy is extremely reluctant to sell to a Premier League rival and is still thought to be demanding at least £100m to sanction a departure.

As a result, Man United are alleged to have urged Kane to submit a transfer request, otherwise they will move on to other targets, as they are not prepared to enter a long-running transfer saga.

Should the 29-year-old's desire to break the all-time Premier League goalscoring record win over, a stay at Tottenham cannot be ruled out, but according to Sky Deutschland, Bayern have been given renewed hope of a deal.

The report states that the Bundesliga champions have reignited talks with the striker's entourage, and Kane has apparently earmarked Bayern as his preferred destination if he was to leave his homeland this summer.

Thomas Tuchel's side supposedly believe that a deal can be done for under €100m (£85.8m), as Spurs chairman Levy would be less disinclined to let Kane move to a foreign team.

Bayern did not directly replace Robert Lewandowski last season following his switch to Barcelona, but Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting stepped up to the plate with 17 goals in all competitions.

The former Stoke City and Paris Saint-Germain attacker earned himself a new one-year deal as a reward for his performances, but Bayern are still expected to pursue a new big-money striker, even with their well-documented financial constraints.

The Bavarians have supposedly decided against paying the €100m (£85.8m) demanded by Eintracht Frankfurt for Randal Kolo Muani, while Napoli's Victor Osimhen is not considered a realistic target either due to his mammoth price tag.

Should Bayern ultimately fail in their efforts to prise Kane away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Tuchel's side have apparently earmarked Werder Bremen's Niclas Fullkrug as a cut-price alternative.

Kane became top scorer for both club and country during an excellent individual season in 2022-23, contributing 32 goals and five assists from 49 games, including 30 efforts in the Premier League.

Only Erling Haaland (36) struck more in England's top flight, but Tottenham still laboured to an eighth-placed finish, missing out on a spot in Europe for the first time in 14 years.
