Lyon coach Remi Garde says that the manner of his team's defeat to Toulouse was "disappointing".

Lyon manager Remi Garde has refused to blame his team's Europa League commitments for their 3-0 defeat to Toulouse.

Wissam Ben-Yedder and Eteinne Capoue scored the goals that sealed victory for le Tef, helping them go seventh in the table.

Garde admitted that his team were second best, but said that they still had chances to get back into the game.

"The scale of the defeat is disappointing, even if the last two goals came late on," Ligue1.com quote Garde as saying.

"It's a heavy loss, but Toulouse were better than us and we can have no excuses, even if it's tough to play having played in Europe in midweek.

"We had some chances in the second half, but lady luck didn't smile on us, and we were punished when we pushed hard at the end of the game and I'd decided to take some risks."

Lyon are fourth, one point behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille.
