Half-Time Report: Ashley Williams own goal pegs Wales back

Ashley Williams's own goal means that Wales are level in their friendly with Iceland this evening after a good start.

Wales are currently level at 1-1 in their friendly against Iceland this evening after a bright start.

Ashley Williams's own goal midway through the half cancelled out James Collins's opener 12 minutes in.

After an even start to the game, Wales began to find space on the flanks with Gareth Bale in particular dropping deep and running at the Iceland defence.

The Real Madrid star was then instrumental as Wales took the lead, drawing a foul before delivering the free kick onto the head of Collins, who flicked it past the goalkeeper.

Moments later Bale skipped past a couple of challenges and produced a low drive at goal before forcing the goalkeeper into another good save with a dipping effort from distance.

Joe Allen then found space on the edge of the box, but could only fire over the crossbar before Iceland got themselves back into the match somewhat fortuitously.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson picked the ball up after Wales failed to deal with a ball into the box and saw his scuffed effort deflect off Williams and past Wayne Hennessey.

The visitors grew in confidence after that before youngster Emyr Huws helped Chris Coleman's men to regain a measure of control before half time, without really threatening.
