Tony Pulis: 'Salomon Rondon will score goals for West Bromwich Albion'

Tony Pulis is certain that West Bromwich Albion's £12m man Salomon Rondon has the goals to prove a successful signing.

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has backed misfiring striker Salomon Rondon to enjoy a goal-laden first season at The Hawthorns.

The 26-year-old joined the Baggies in a club-record £12m summer move from Zenit St Petersburg, but has only netted once in five Premier League outings.

Nevertheless, Pulis is certain that the Venezuelan hitman is stoic enough to ignore his early-season struggles and focus on being a success with Albion.

"We're just hoping he gets a bit more luck in front of goal, but it doesn't seem to affect him. He doesn't seem that type of character," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"Nothing seems to faze him, he's just a good lad. He could have had four or five easily, I'm sure he'll score the goals.

"Salomon has been fantastic and every game we've played he scored a goal or two and has been very unfortunate not to."

Pulis's men host Everton in the West Midlands on Monday night.
