Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly decide what they deem to be acceptable conditions for the exit of Fabio Silva.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly set their stance regarding the future of Fabio Silva.

Four years on from being signed for £35m as an unproven 18-year-old, the forward has not come close to justifying his price tag.

Just five goals and six assists have been scored in 72 appearances for Wolves, the Portugal Under-21 international having been loaned out on three occasions.

Most recently, Silva spent the second half of the 2023-24 campaign at Rangers, although he contributed just six goals from his 25 outings for the Glasgow giants.

The former Porto youngster is now back at Molineux awaiting his next move, it having already been determined by Gary O'Neil that he does not feature in his plans.

Silva has not played a single minute of pre-season football and Wolves are actively inviting offers for his signature as they bid to find him a permanent exit.

Wolves willing to compromise

While Wolves naturally want to generate the biggest fee possible, they are aware that recouping even a third of what they shelled out in 2020 is unlikely.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, club officials have indicated to interested clubs that they are willing to entertain loan deals which come with a mandatory purchase option.

Wolves seemingly hope that such terms will encourage more teams to make a formal approach having already rejected a bid from Genoa.

As a result of the sales of Max Kilman and Pedro Neto, Wolves do not necessarily have to take such a firm stance over a deal courtesy of their much-improved position with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability regulations.

What clubs are showing an interest?

Romano adds that Spanish outfit Real Betis requested information regarding a potential transfer several days ago.

Ayoze Perez has recently left for Villarreal, leaving Manuel Pellegrini in need of a new striker at a time when the club are preparing to enter the Europa Conference League playoff round.

Werder Bremen are also said to be in the running as they look to build on last season's ninth-placed finish in the Bundesliga.

Silva could plausibly bide his time until later in the month, aware that offers are likely to arrive from other clubs.
