Haas has currently withheld extensive comments amidst swirling rumors that the compact American squad might be Toyota's pathway back into Formula 1.

Previously, conjecture last year hinted at Toyota's possible comeback, tying them to McLaren when Toyota-endorsed Ryo Hirakawa joined as a test driver.

Recent speculation was sparked again by the attendance of Toyota Gazoo Racing's general manager Masaya Kaji in Haas's pit garage during the British Grand Prix last weekend.

Danish publication Ekstra Bladet cited various reports this week, hinting at the initial stages for Toyota possibly involving a branding and naming agreement, similar to Sauber's past partnership with Alfa Romeo.

"The stories further state that the parties are considering a technical collaboration in the long term," noted the newspaper.

"Toyota Gazoo Racing has both a wind tunnel and the necessary facilities in Cologne, where the car giant's failed F1 project back in the 2000s took place."

Nevertheless, when approached for a statement, a representative from Haas declined to discuss the "speculative stories."

This year, Japanese engineer Ayao Komatsu succeeded the axed Gunther Steiner as the principal of the Haas team.
