Eric Boullier has said that he expects Lotus to return to the front of the Formula 1 grid in dry conditions.
The team began the 2013 season with a win at the Australian Grand Prix, but were off the pace in Malaysia a week later.
The team principal told Autosport.com: "I don't think it's completely revealing. I don't think it revealed [our] potential in that race. You can expect some much better results in normal conditions.
"I think the team did a safe strategy for both cars in the points and we could keep contact with the leaders so it was good.
"With our car we have the pace over one lap now and we also have some good race pace. I think Romain [Grosjean]'s going to have the same upgrade in China as Kimi [Raikkonen]. There are parts coming at every race and we'll keep pushing, so it's going to be interesting."
The Chinese Grand Prix takes place next weekend.
