McLaren dominated the first practice session of the German Grand Prix today, with Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton setting the top two fastest times in Hoffenheim.
Button, who is in desperate need of points this weekend, finished 0.5 seconds ahead of his teammate after all Formula 1 drivers took to the track for the first time ahead of Sunday's showdown.
Ferrari's Fernando Alonso recorded the third fastest time, while Michael Schumacher, who claimed a podium place at the Spanish Grand Prix, set the fourth quickest time around the track in Germany.
While it was relatively dry for the majority of the practice session, the heavens did eventually open, hampering a number of the drivers as they tried not to steer off track during the practice.
