Eric Boullier happy with performances of Jenson Button

McLaren racing director Eric Boullier insists that there is no problem between the team and Jenson Button following recent comments made by Ron Dennis.

Eric Boullier has insisted that there are no problems between McLaren and Jenson Button following recent comments from McLaren boss Ron Dennis.

Button was recently told to "try harder" by Dennis, but the team's racing director claims that he is happy with how the Brit and Kevin Magnussen have been performing in a season dominated by Mercedes.

"First of all, it is something of a non-story if I may say this," Boullier told reporters. "It has been debated, discussed and re-discussed and re-debated emotionally and passionately, whatever you want.

"What I'm going to say is Ron, traditionally and historically, is always pushing everybody, he is a great competitor; he loves to win and he wants to win.

"In terms of Jenson - and even Kevin - I am very happy with the performance of our drivers this year."

Button is currently eighth in the World Championship standings.
