Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has come out on top in the final practice session at this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix.
Lotus's Romain Grosjean set the early pace in the session but was surpassed by first Rosberg and then the Ferrari duo of Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso in the morning heat of Monte Carlo, where the rain that interrupted yesterday's second practice stayed away.
Lewis Hamilton almost made contact with the barrier at the opening corner after an extended lock-up towards the end of the home straight but managed to just avoid the wall.
Hamiton's McLaren teammate Button, who is hoping for his first pole in three years in qualifying this afternoon, posted the sixth-fastest time of the session.
Towards the end of the practice running, Force India's Paul di Resta impacted with the barrier after spinning on exit of the tunnel but made it back to the pit lane safely.
The Scot was soon followed in crashing by the winner of the last Grand Prix Pastor Maldonado, who turned in too early at the Casino corner and lost a tyre, which resulted in the session being red-flagged and ended three minutes early.
