Before the sensational first-lap crash with teammate Lewis Hamilton on Sunday, Daimler chairman Dieter Zetsche suggested to the German media that championship leader Rosberg has secured a new contract.

"Both drivers are under contract for the forthcoming season," Speed Week quotes him as saying.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen went on to win yesterday's race.
