Bernie Ecclestone determined to create London race

Bernie Ecclestone insists that Formula 1 will work on the plans to hold a race in Central London in the future.

Chief executive of Formula 1, Bernie Ecclestone, has reiterated his desire to see a race held in London.

Despite a circuit having not yet been designed, Ecclestone has repeatedly announced his intentions for a race on the streets of London and the use of the Olympic Stadium is believed to be one of the options for the race.

Ecclestone told The AP: "I'd rather [have a race] where we originally planned in Central London.

"We will work on that. It's a project we are going to try to make happen."

The bid from Formula 1 to use the Olympic Stadium is rumoured to be an idea that the London Legacy Development Corporation are not considering as a feasible option.
