Sebastian Vettel has expressed his delight at winning the German Grand Prix for the first time in his career.
The Red Bull driver started in second place on the grid but gained ground early before finishing ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean in his home race.
"It's unbelievable," BBC Sport quotes Vettel as saying. "I am very, very happy. Kimi was pushing very close in the end but I was pushing in every lap except from the ones with the safety car.
"I enjoyed today and I could feel Kimi coming and it was quite close with Romain too but we recovered and I am very happy the race ended after 60 laps and not 61 or 62 laps."
The win has seen Vettel extend his lead over Ferrari's Fernando Alonso at the top of the standings to 34 points.
