Adam Scott "quietly confident" of Masters defence

Adam Scott reveals that he is "quietly confident" of becoming only the fourth man to collect the green jacket in consecutive years when he defends his Masters title this week.

Adam Scott has admitted to being "quietly confident" of becoming only the fourth man to win consecutive Masters when he defends his title at Augusta this week.

The 32-year-old was the first Australian victor of the event when he opened his Major account by beating Angel Cabrera in a playoff 12 months ago.

Tiger Woods, Nick Faldo and Jack Nicklaus are the golfing greats that have been presented with green jackets in successive years, and Scott feels that he is in a good position to join such illustrious company.

"I'd like to add my name to that list this week," he told reporters. "I feel like I'm playing really well.

"Over the last couple of years, I could definitely say I've been quietly confident coming to the Majors. I've seen my form and the way I play the Majors get better and better."

With Woods absent through injury, Scott can become the world number one with victory at Augusta.
