Viktor Hovland wins his fourth professional title, successfully defending the World Wide Technology Championship in Mayakoba.

Viktor Hovland has shot a final-round 67 to comfortably defend the World Wide Technology Championship in Mayakoba.

The Norwegian edged last year's competition by a single shot, but it was a different story this time around as the world number 17 finished four shots ahead of Carlos Ortiz.

Four birdies during his opening 11 holes proved pivotal as he kept himself clear of the chasing pack, and he would not be denied despite two bogeys on holes 12 and 15.

Ortiz will be satisfied with the runners-up spot as a 66 ensured that he outlasted Justin Thomas and Scottie Scheffler.

Abraham Ancer and Sergio Garcia were among a group of players to finish in a tie for seventh, while Ireland's Seamus Power ended the tournament in 11th position.

England's Aaron Rai posted his best finish since securing his PGA Tour card, closing with a 67 to end in 15th spot.
