Tom Watson wants Tiger Woods "sit-down"

Tom Watson wants to have a man-to-man discussion with Tiger Woods and explain his criticism of the 37-year-old back in 2010.

US Ryder Cup captain Tom Watson has revealed that he wants a "sit-down" with Tiger Woods and repair their relationship.

Watson criticised the current world number one in February 2010 after his sex scandal broke out, urging the 37-year-old to "get his personal life in order" and to "clean up his act" on the golf course.

"I haven't really sat down with Tiger [since I was appointed Ryder Cup captain in December, 2012]," The Telegraph quotes him as saying.

"I had dinner with him at the US Open this year but we only had a normal discussion as there were other people around.

I haven't sat with Tiger privately for any length of time. I will have a sit-down with him."

Europe won the Ryder Cup in 2012.
