Scotland's Scott Jamieson has closed the first round of The Championship one shot behind leader Panuphol Pittayarat at Laguna National in Singapore.

Jamieson sits second in the leaderboard after carding an eight-under 64 following nine birdies, while Pittayarat has an unblemished score of 63.

The Scotsman remained in contention for the clubhouse lead until he suffered a bogey on the 16th, but was eventually forced to end the day tied second with three other golfers, including American David Lipsky.

While most players managed to come through 18 holes, play was eventually suspended until tomorrow morning due to fading light.
