Great Britain women book place in hockey final

Great Britain defeat New Zealand to book their place in the final of the women's hockey.

Great Britain are guaranteed to pick up a medal in the women's hockey after booking their place in the final with a 3-0 win over New Zealand.

Alex Danson hit a double and Helen Richardson-Walsh added a penalty stroke to ensure that Britain are on course for at least a silver medal in the event.

Team GB, who earned bronze in the women's hockey at London 2012, will take on the Netherlands in the final on Friday.

The Dutch were the pre-tournament favourites, having won gold in the event in each of the last three Olympics.

Britain's current medal haul of 50 marks their best ever performance at an overseas Olympics.
