Stephanie Inglis disappointed to miss out on gold

Scotland's Stephanie Inglis admits that her silver-medal win at the Commonwealth Games was bittersweet as she lost out on the gold to England's Nedoka Davis.

Team Scotland's Stephanie Inglis has revealed that she was disappointed to miss out on a gold medal in the women's under-57kg judo at the Commonwealth Games.

The 25-year-old lost to England's Nekoda Davis in the final as Davis defeated her using the Waza-ari throw to secure the gold-medal win in Glasgow.

Inglis told reporters: "I'm disappointed not to finish with the gold. The rest of the team in the medal fights all managed to win them so I'm disappointed I couldn't finish it off.

"But silver is not bad. I definitely knew a medal was in my grasp so it was always in my head to get into the final and go for the gold medal, but there will be other Games.

"Today was fantastic and it was only the start. We're going to see some more medals over the next few days."

Scotland's Kimberley Renicks and Louise Renicks did win two gold medals for the host nation in the under-48kg and under-52kg respectively.
