The attendance figures at Arsenal's home matches last season are significantly lower than the official stat released by the Premier League club.

According to The Telegraph, the MPS, which records the number of spectators who turn up to a match, counted an average attendance of 53,788, which is almost 10% lower than the 99.1% average figure released by Arsenal.
The Gunners opt to calculate their figures based on the number of tickets sold as opposed to the number of people who actually attend the fixture.
The data from the MPS shows that 6,000 people bought tickets for Arsenal games at the Emirates, but did not turn up.
