BT apologises for outage in London derby

BT Sport apologises for a technical error which saw its coverage of the North London derby interrupted at a crucial juncture.

BT Sport has apologised to viewers after its coverage of the North London derby was interrupted during injury time.

With the scores locked at 2-2, both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were frantically searching for a winner at White Hart Lane as the contest drew to a close.

Viewers watching on BT Sport were suddenly greeted by a blank screen, shortly followed by a message apologising for a technical error.

The action did resume some minutes later as the broadcaster instead switched to the Premier League's international feed, which had no audio.

In a statement about the incident, BT said: "We are sorry for the serious technical problem that affected today's live coverage from Tottenham. This was caused by a local power outage."

Neither side could ultimately find the net during time added-on and the match ended in a stalemate.
