Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski has sent a personal 'get well' message to former assistant manager Pat Rice.

The 64-year-old, who spent a total of 44 years with the Gunners as a player and coach, is currently being treated for cancer.

Podolski posted a photograph on Twitter holding an Arsenal shirt with Pat Rice and 'get well soon' emblazoned on the back, along with the number two, which refers to the former coach's position working alongside manager Arsene Wenger.

The German international accompanied the photograph with the message: "Pat Rice, Arsenal-hero, all the best for you, get well soon!"
