Mario Gotze in sponsorship row with Germany national team?

Mario Gotze reportedly causes controversy by wearing Nike socks with the German national team, who are sponsored by Adidas.

Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze has reportedly angered Germany general manager Oliver Bierhoff for failing to stick to sponsorship rules.

The national football team are sponsored by Adidas, who, as part of their deal, stipulate that players must wear their brand when they join up with the squad.

Despite the agreement, Gotze was photographed wearing Nike socks while emerging from the team bus, which prompted Bierhoff to have words, according to 101greatgoals.com.

Germany are due to take on the Republic of Ireland in a World Cup qualifier this evening.
