British number two tennis player James Ward was taken to hospital following Great Britain's victory over Russia in the Davis Cup.
The team secured a World Group playoff place following their 3-2 victory over Russia on Sunday, but Ward's exertions left him needing medical attention.
"I thought sleep would help me recover from the weekend but by yesterday afternoon I wasn't feeling too good so I went to my local A and E," Ward told lta.org.uk.
"The staff there were great. They put me on a drip and let me go at midnight. I'm feeling much better today and I'm still hoping to make it to the States next week."
Ward is expected to be in action for Great Britain at the playoffs in September.
