New Los Angeles Galaxy star Steven Gerrard 'misses British food'

Steven Gerrard misses traditional British fish and chips, according to his new Los Angeles Galaxy teammate Mika Varyrynen.

Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder Mika Varyrynen has suggested that new teammate Steven Gerrard is missing traditional British food.

The former Liverpool captain moved to the United States earlier this month after ending a 17-year career at Anfield.

On the pitch, Gerrard found form quickly by scoring on his MLS debut against San Jose Earthquakes a fortnight ago.

However, it appears that the 35-year-old is struggling to adapt to the cuisine in LA and is missing his home comforts.

"Stevie, like all English people, loves his fish and chips," the Daily Star quotes Varyrynen as saying. "I know they have fish and chips everywhere in England but not so much here. Hopefully he can find a nice restaurant which will serve it."

Gerrard's second MLS appearance ended in a 3-0 defeat to Houston Dynamo on Sunday.
