The Air Accidents Investigation Branch is continuing to look into the helicopter crash that is thought to have taken the life of Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

Enquiries into the helicopter crash outside Leicester City's King Power Stadium will continue in the coming days.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) is leading the investigation into the incident, which is thought to have taken the life of Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and four others.

BBC Sport reports that Mr Srivaddhanaprabha was in the aircraft when it hit the ground and erupted in flames, just moments after taking off from inside the ground, as well as two pilots and two unidentified passengers.

Police have urged patience and understanding while enquiries continue over the coming days.

"Leicestershire Police, East Midlands Ambulance Service and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service all responded to the incident last night and enquiries continue at the scene today, led by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch," a statement read.

"As soon as we are able to confirm any further details around the incident, we will do so."

Leicester's midweek EFL Cup tie with Southampton is expected to be called off in wake of the distressing incident.
