Brighton & Hove Albion's Anton Rodgers and George Barker are cleared of sexual assault and voyeurism, as is former Brighton player Steve Cook, while Lewis Dunk escapes a sentence.

Brighton & Hove Albion's Anton Rodgers, who is the son of Liverpool manager Brendan, has been cleared of sexual assault and voyeurism.

Four footballers - Rodgers, George Barker, Steve Cook and Lewis Dunk - who were all Brighton players at the time, were accused of sexually assaulting a girl in her sleep and photographing themselves during an incident in 2011.

Following a three-month re-trial and over eight hours of deliberation, the jury has found each defendant not guilty of the seven charges, which prompted cries of "well done boys" from the public gallery, according to Sky Sports News.

All four footballers, Barker, Rodgers and Dunk, who remain at Brighton, and Cook, who is now a Bournemouth player, denied the allegations throughout the trial.

Liverpool boss Rodgers was in court today to hear the verdict.
