Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera denies match-fixing claims

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera insists that he is innocent after being named in a match-fixing investigation in Spain.

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has insisted that his "conscience is clear" after being named in a match-fixing investigation.

The 25-year-old is among 41 people who feature in a report back in his native Spain.

It is alleged that Herrera was one of 10 people who withdrew money to bribe Levante players ahead of their match against Real Zaragoza in 2011.

"I have never had and will never have anything to do with manipulating match results," he wrote on his official Facebook page.

"If I am ever called to testify in any judicial hearing, I'll be happy to attend, as my conscience is clear."

Swansea City winger Jefferson Montero has also been named in the investigation.
