Manchester United have returned to being the richest club in the world after securing a record £750m kit deal with global sportswear giants Adidas.
Real Madrid and Barcelona were leading the way in terms of value, but the Red Devils have moved to the top of the list after confirming the agreement with Adidas on Monday.
The brand will replace Nike, who will end their 13-year association with the North-West outfit at the end of the 2014-15 season.
According to the Daily Mail, shares on the New York Stoke Exchange rose by almost five per cent following the deal, which gives United a value of £2.1 billion, making them the world's most valuable club.
This season, United will be led by new manager Louis van Gaal, who will begin his reign today.
