Manchester United will hold a special tribute to mark Sir Alex Ferguson's return to Old Trafford for the first time since undergoing emergency brain surgery in May.

Manchester United will mark Sir Alex Ferguson's first return to Old Trafford since his emergency brain surgery with a special tribute in his honour ahead of this afternoon's Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Ferguson was rushed to hospital in May after suffering a brain haemorrhage, leaving him in intensive care for several days.

However, the 76-year-old is making good progress in his recovery and will make his first public appearance for almost five months at today's clash with Wolves.

Supporters have been asked to take their seats 15 minutes early in order for United to "prepare to honour Sir Alex's return".

Ferguson's last public appearance came on April 29, when he presented former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger with a commemorative trophy to mark his impending exit from the club.

The Scot was in charge of United for 27 years, helping the club to 38 trophies in that time, including 13 Premier League titles.
