Manchester United have joined Twitter, becoming the 92nd and final Football League club to do so.
@ManUtd joins the other 91 clubs from England's top-four divisions, many of whom have been active on the social network site for years.
A statement on the United website said: "The micro-blogging services will allow fans around the world to engage with the club in a way they have never experienced before with iconic artwork, behind-the-scenes footage and exclusive content sent directly to their news feeds."
The Red Devils also announced that they were joining Sina Weibo to connect with fans in China.
Richard Arnold, group managing director, said: "I look forward to these new ventures further extending the club's interaction with its fans around the world."
Since their first tweet - "New era, same spirit. The season starts here. Let's do this. #mufc" - earlier this morning, the account has already gained over 175,000 followers.
