Louis van Gaal tells Manchester United players to be "horny"

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal reveals that he tells his players to be "horny" as a way of motivating them before a match.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has revealed that he tells his players to be "horny" as a way of motivating them.

The Dutchman revealed the bizarre technique during his press conference on Wednesday ahead of tomorrow's Europa League last-32 second leg against FC Midtjylland.

"We have to show desire, that is a very good word, hunger, and a lot of times I use the word 'horny' to my players - it's true!" said Van Gaal.

After chuckles broke out across the press room, Juan Mata, who was seated next to Van Gaal, was asked what the players thought of the suggestion. The Spaniard said: "We react like you!"

United will head into Thursday's match trailing 2-1 from the first leg.
