Gareth Bale omitted from 'FIFA 16' top 20 players list

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is only the 23rd-best player in the world, according to FIFA 16.

EA Sports has revealed a list of the top 50 players on the upcoming FIFA 16, and Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is absent from the top 20.

The world's most expensive footballer is ranked down in 23rd place with an overall rating of 87.

There are few shocks in the top 10, with Barcelona's Lionel Messi coming first with an overall rating of 94, followed by Real's Cristiano Ronaldo on 93.

Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is ranked third on 90, while Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer is the game's best goalkeeper with the same score in fourth.

There are two Premier League representatives in the top 10 - Eden Hazard of Chelsea in sixth and David Silva of Manchester City in 10th.

EA Sports compiled the stats based on each player's real-life performances over the last year.
