Brazilian game threatened to be called off due to bees

A league game in Brazil is almost postponed due to a swarm of bees occupying the corner of a crossbar on one of the goals.

A Brazilian league fixture was close to being postponed due to a swarm of bees that had moved onto the crossbar of one of the goals.

The clash between Ponte Preta and Atletico Sorocaba at the Moises Lucarelli stadium was salvaged, despite a hoard of bees and insects gathering in the corner of the net.

Firemen dressed in protective white suits were forced to use fire extinguishers to kill the bees ahead of kickoff.

The area was cleansed with petrol before the players arrived for the game.
