Olympic boxing champion Luke Campbell says that he is "thankful" to the fans that are backing him on Dancing On Ice.

Olympic boxing champion Luke Campbell has expressed his gratitude to the public for supporting him on reality ice skating show Dancing On Ice.

The 25-year-old, who won gold at London 2012, has claimed that he is enjoying showing a "different side" to his character on the show, where he skates with professional Jenna Smith.

"I've been boxing for 18 years and that's all I've ever done," the Daily Star quotes Campbell as saying. "It's hard to go from something you're good at to something you're not good at.

"I know I'm not the strongest skater but the public have had my back so far, so I'm very thankful for that. I don't think anything will compare to the Olympics but this is fun and showing a different side to me.

"I never ever had a fake tan, never even been on a sunbed. And I'm not used to leotards! But I don't mind. Fake tan does put a bit of colour on my pale face!"

Campbell, who will perform this Sunday on the ITV show, recently posed naked for Gay Times magazine in a bid to raise money for health charity Terrence Higgins Trust.
