Formula 1 commentating legend Murray Walker has been diagnosed with cancer.
The 89-year-old has revealed that a scan taken of his pelvis following a fall last month unexpectedly showed that he has a form of lymphatic system cancer.
Walker will undergo a programme of chemotherapy over the next few months in an attempt to cure the disease, and remains positive about his chances of overcoming it.
He told reporters: "They've caught it incredibly early. It's treatable, the doctors say my condition is mild and I'm very hopeful."
Walker was the voice of motor racing for over three decades before retiring following the American Grand Prix in 2001.
