Tony Jacklin: 'I was naive agreeing to do 'Strictly Come Dancing''

Golfer Tony Jacklin says that he was "naive" to agree to take part in Strictly Come Dancing.

Golfer Tony Jacklin has admitted that he made a "naive" decision by agreeing to take part in the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing reality show.

The 69-year-old finished second-last in the leaderboard following his first performance with dance partner Aliona Vilani over the weekend.

"When I said yes it was a very naive yes," the Daily Star quotes Jacklin as saying. "I grew up in golf, this is another discipline. It's pressure and you're rushed into another world that I haven't been in tune with.

"Never having seen the programme, it's new territory. It's all very intimidating. I want to be here and am taking one day at a time. It will get harder and I hope I get fitter."

For the last 20 years, Jacklin has lived in Florida with his wife Astrid.
