Former Texas A&M Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel has signed a lucrative new sponsorship deal with sporting giants Nike.
Manziel's marketing rights were in high demand following the end of his college career, with Adidas, Under Armour and New Balance's Warrior brand also bidding for his signature.
However, it is Nike who have won the rights to outfit the 21-year-old's feet and use him in marketing campaigns, paying what is reportedly the highest price for any of the players available in this year's NFL Draft.
Manziel has sought to trademark his nickname 'Johnny Football', and if his campaign is successful then Nike could also have rights to the phrase.
The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner has been tipped as the first overall pick in this year's Draft, although he faces stiff competition from fellow quarterback Blake Bortles and defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, among others.
Manziel joins a host of other NFL quarterbacks to be sponsored by Nike, including Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick, Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers.
