The Royal Voluntary Service have revealed that they have had an increase in people wanting to participate following the London 2012 Olympics.
The volunteers for the Games last summer received huge praise for their involvement in helping run the sporting event.
While the numbers relating to participation in sport have not been as positive since the end of the Games, the leading charity has benefited.
"We want to urge the nation to keep the Olympic spirit alive by dedicating some of their free time to volunteering and to join the Royal Voluntary Service," the Daily Star quotes Royal Voluntary Service chief executive David McCullough as saying. "Volunteering is really a win-win situation."
Meanwhile, the London Anniversary Games in London begin this weekend.
