Brazilian football legend Ronaldo has scooped £27,824 at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event in the Bahamas.
The 38-year-old moved up to 26th out of 816 players at the tournament by beating some of the world's best competitors.
"I'm really excited, it's the same emotion I used to have at the soccer fields playing at the highest level," said Ronaldo. "The experience has been great, my first goal was to get a prize in a big tournament and I achieved that."
The retired footballer's position is the best that any sports person has reached in PCA history, surpassing that of golfer Sergio Garcia, who reached 52nd place in 2012.
